Le
Dôme.

brasserie

Le Dôme is a story of an institution that has watched over Montpellier since 1897. Run by the same family of Majorcan origin for three generations, this place steeped in history is unique in the city for its "Parisian brasserie" style — with a good dose of southern warmth added in. Over the years it has held on to its spirit of openness and to a clientele as varied as it is loyal, the kind of address where everyone feels welcome.

At its heart is a traditional, market-led cuisine, served at midday and in the evening in generous and very affordable portions, prepared by chef Julien Burel — trained at the celebrated L'Oustau de Baumanière. But Le Dôme is really a place for every moment of the day. Come for breakfast with the daily, sports, or national press; for the plat du jour at lunch; for a gentle, original musical atmosphere in the afternoon over gourmet coffees and teas and homemade pastries; for a tapas board at apéro hour; or for an evening among friends gathered around its flavourful cooking. Whatever the moment, the welcome is a pleasure.

What truly sets it apart is that there's scarcely an evening when something isn't happening. The week is alive with café-debates — the Café Philo every Wednesday at 8.30pm, the Café Babel every Tuesday evening for meeting and chatting in a foreign language, the Cafés de la Biodiversité on the first Thursday of the month, and the Café Citoyen — alongside theatre, painting and photography exhibitions, and much more besides to nourish both body and mind. Once a month, on a Friday, the Jazz dinner-concerts bring together the most brilliant local and international musicians for a special evening.

Warm, lively, and proudly rooted in its long history, Le Dôme is far more than a brasserie — it's a genuine living place where good traditional French cooking, easy conviviality, and a rich cultural life come together, right in the heart of Montpellier.
