Les mille et une lucioles.

In 12 days night lights

Les mille et une lucioles is an evening of illuminated walks in Montpellier, in the Occitania region of southern France. It takes place at Plan de l'Om, where visitors gather to begin a trail of lights.

The event runs on Friday 13 November, from 18:30 to 22:30. Once night falls, the path of lights leads visitors through gardens of fireflies, dreams and tales, a setting that suits an unhurried evening out after dark.

Plan your evening

  • Meeting point: Plan de l'Om, from 18:30
  • Dates and hours: Friday 13 November, 18:30 to 22:30
  • Guided strolls: offered every 20 minutes, led by the neighbourhood committee "Les amoureux de Candolle"

The guided strolls make it easy to join in without planning ahead: you can arrive at Plan de l'Om and set off with the next group. Because the walks are spaced every 20 minutes, arriving a little early in the evening gives you time to settle in before the lights come on.

Around the event

Plan de l'Om sits within Montpellier, a city well suited to walking, so the lit trail makes a good reason to explore the surrounding streets on foot. For more details about the wider city light campaign, the official page on montpellier.fr lists the programme.
