Taastrup Teater & Musikhus.

theater

Taastrup Teater & Musikhus is a municipal theatre and music venue on Kjeld Abells Plads in Taastrup, a town on the western edge of Copenhagen. It is the successor to the earlier Taastrup Teater and Selsmosescenen, and it reopened in the 2017/2018 season under its current name.

The venue presents a varied programme of roughly one hundred events a year. Visitors can expect music, comedy, talks and theatre, and the programme on the venue's website can be filtered by genre: music, stand-up, talks, theatre, children's shows and jazz. That range makes it a practical choice whether you are looking for a concert, an evening of comedy, or a performance for younger family members.

A local meeting place

Beyond its own productions, the venue hosts performances by Høje-Taastrup Teaterforening, the local theatre association founded in 1964. This gives the building a strong community character, alongside its professional programming. The venue can also be hired for events, and it has a section aimed at professionals.

Planning your visit

The ticket office is located in the foyer. According to the venue's website, its ticket office is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays, while evening performances follow the programme for each event, so it is worth checking the listing for the show you have in mind. The venue can be reached by telephone on +45 43 35 27 70, and its website lists the current programme.

If you are staying in Copenhagen and want to see something outside the city centre, Taastrup Teater & Musikhus offers a straightforward evening out: check what is on, book ahead, and enjoy a performance in a local setting.
