Runa Simi is a Peruvian documentary feature directed by Augusto Zegarra, running 1 hour and 21 minutes. The film follows Fernando, a Quechua actor, Indigenous activist, painter and single father, as he pursues his dream of dubbing Disney's The Lion King into the Quechua language. Through Fernando's journey, the film explores themes of resilience, cultural pride and the vitality of Indigenous language. Runa Simi won the Best New Documentary Director award at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival. It screens in its original version in Quechua and Spanish, with French subtitles.
