REPLICA - Andrea Peña & Artists (Dance Performance).

Dans 48 jours dance performance
REPLICA is a 60-minute choreographic work by Montreal-based company Andrea Peña & Artists, presented as part of Festival Quartiers Danses 2026 at USINE C. The piece functions as an archaeological performance of movement, drawing on ancient mythological figures, digital self-portraits, and contemporary commercial reproductions to interrogate how the body has been represented across history. Dancers Frédérique Rodier and James Phillips share the stage within a scenographic garden that serves as a living axis mundi — a queer Garden of Eden in which gender norms are questioned and dissolved. The work oscillates between sculptural rigor and sensory disruption, blending beauty and raw emotion in an immersive duet format. Created across Naples, Sweden, Norway, and Montreal, REPLICA is the latest creation from Andrea Peña, an internationally renowned choreographer and winner of the 2026 CHANEL Next Prize. The work is described as a hybrid and profoundly human choreographic language that defies easy categorization. Performances take place on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 7:00 PM. Duration is approximately 60 minutes. Tickets are priced at $65 (regular) and $55.25 (reduced rate).
