After 40 years in the performing arts, Chantal Lamarre returns to basics with a solo evening in the spirit of old-school cabarets — one room, one stage, one spotlight. The show combines song, step dance (steppette) and comedy in a vintage variety format that tackles very contemporary issues.
Lamarre, known as a sharp-eyed observer of the world and a natural entertainer, steps onto the stage alone for the first time at 60, proving she can sing, dance and make people laugh all in one evening. Audiences can expect laughs, emotion and plenty of audience reactions — the kind of show she describes as a winning formula with a retro flavour and a modern edge.
The performer brings her signature wit and irreverence to topics of society and culture, looking back in the rearview mirror as a way of moving forward more lightly. The evening promises to be both entertaining and moving, with her characteristic boldness and self-deprecating humour front and centre.
The show takes place on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 20:00 at Salle Jean-Grimaldi.
