Medea
Luz.

In 80 days theater performance
Medea Luz follows Katalina, a woman who dreams of performing tragedy. She decides to rewrite the myth of Medea, drawing on her own mother, a Chilean woman who left a country devastated by dictatorship and brutality. Her mother's wounds resurface as she raises her daughter, and Katalina asks whether anyone can escape a tragic destiny written before birth. The show combines striking aesthetics with a multidisciplinary approach. Author and performer Kathy-Alexandra Retamal Villegas delivers a committed, trilingual text set against music that is almost scenographic. Margarita Herrera Domínguez directs. The cast features Kathy-Alexandra Retamal Villegas, Patricia Pérez and Akawui Riquelme, who also plays live music. The creative team includes Roxanne Bédard (lighting) and Olivier Magnan-Bossé (sound design). Performances start at 19:30 in Salle Fred-Barry.
