Hicham Smile: Oasis is a stand-up show in Montreal, Canada, staged at the Théâtre Sainte-Catherine. Hicham Smile presents the piece as a deeply personal look at the search for identity, drawing on Moroccan culture.
About the show
Oasis grew out of Hicham Smile's earlier preview show, Avant-première, and carries forward the same direction into a fuller evening. Rather than a loose set of jokes, it is built around one central question: who one is, and where one belongs. The Moroccan references give the material its roots and its specific point of view.
