ESPRIT: Electronic Music Concert.

In 9 days dj set
ESPRIT is the sample-based electronic side project of George Clanton, launched in 2012. Early releases Girls Only and Summer Night helped define the vaporwave genre, while the 2014 LP Virtua.zip broke new ground by using entirely original material at a time when the scene relied heavily on manipulated samples. The 200% Electronica project blends ESPRIT's signature vaporwave compositions with chopped-and-screwed samples drawn from George Clanton's own catalog, a technique developed over two years of touring with a Roland SP-404SX. The show is presented by good shows and POP Montreal, taking place at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) in Montréal, QC, on Thursday, September 24 at 9:00 PM EDT.

ESPRIT

ESPRIT began in 2012 as the sample-based side project of electronic pop artist George Clanton. Starting with the essential vaporwave EPs Girls Only and Summer Night, ESPRIT pushed the genre forward with the 2014 LP Virtua.zip, composed entirely of original material at a time when vaporwave was defined by found audio and manipulated samples. Their album 200% Electronica blends original compositions in their signature vaporwave style with chopped-and-screwed samples drawn from George Clanton's own catalog.
