Café Saint-Barth is a warm, greenery-filled café in the heart of downtown Montreal, at 3500 avenue du Parc in the Milton Parc neighbourhood. Its guiding idea is a simple, generous one: thoughtful food, great coffee, and meaningful connections with the community around it. Surrounded by lush greenery and open every day from morning to early evening, it's the kind of place you come to for a hearty breakfast, a long weekend brunch, a light lunch, or an intricate drink shared with friends. The food is the heart of it — always fresh, always homemade with love — and the whole room has an easy, familiar, all-are-welcome feel, with plenty of clearly labelled vegetarian and vegan options woven right through the menu.

Mornings are the main event, and they run deep. Breakfasts arrive with drip coffee or tea — a classic three-egg plate, a vegan-friendly Vegan Mezze of beets, smashed avocado, hummus and Kalamata olives, chilaquiles, even a breakfast poutine crowned with two sunny eggs — alongside the house St-Barth Benny, poached eggs on a buttery croissant in avocado, smoked salmon, or Mediterranean guises, and a whole page of avocado toasts that climb from the classic up to a yellowfin tuna crudo. The brunch card leans a little sweeter and more playful: cornflake-battered French toast, the signature St-Barth Croffles (crisp-tender dessert croissants with strawberries, banana and maple), Belgian waffles, and specialty bagels built on the famous St-Viateur sesame bagel — from a brie-and-bacon to a proper lox and cream cheese. There are toasted-focaccia sandwiches, sharing plates like charcuterie for two or guacamole and chips, generous salads (goat cheese, halloumi garden, a supreme Caesar), and, after 3pm, a full line of burgers, smashburgers, a grilled chicken Caesar wrap, and classic poutine — with the rest of the menu still available.

To drink, the café takes its coffee seriously — espresso, flat white, cortado, flavoured lattés in vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, lavender or coconut — and rounds it out with Belgian and Viennese hot chocolates, tea lattés (matcha, chai, London Fog, a lavender Earl Grey, a golden latté), and affogato for a sweet finish, all with whole, almond or oat milk. There's also a bright bar of fresh-pressed juices and smoothies with names like Awake, Detox, Green Machine and The Madeleine, plus house lemonades, iced teas, and milkshakes in flavours like blueberry-and-lavender. Thoughtful, fresh, and genuinely community-minded, Café Saint-Barth is a lovely little downtown haven — a leafy corner of Milton Parc where good food, good coffee, and good company come together from breakfast right through to evening.
