Roméo & Juliette, the celebrated French musical written by Gérard Presgurvic, has captivated more than 11 million audience members worldwide since its premiere in 2001 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, where it alone drew nearly 2.5 million spectators. Translated into 18 languages and performed across 20 countries, it stands as one of the defining works of French musical theatre.
The 2027 revival brings the show back in a freshly reimagined version featuring new costumes, new scenography and a new casting approach, while preserving the musical DNA — including beloved songs such as Les Rois du monde and Aimer — that has made it a touchstone of French pop culture, with over 9 million records sold.
Gérard Presgurvic, Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara — the original duo who originated the roles of Roméo and Juliette in 2001 — reflect on the deep emotional significance of returning to the show after more than two decades, bringing with them the maturity and experience accumulated through years of performing across Europe and Asia.
The Montpellier performances take place at the Parvis de la Sud de France Arena on Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March 2028, with curtain at 20:30 each evening. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.
