Svartsot formed in 2005 and helped shape the Danish folk metal scene. Their sound blends folk and medieval music with the weight of death metal, mixing bagpipes, flutes and mandolin with heavy guitars and growled vocals.
Their lyrics draw on Danish folk ballads, historical stories and old legends. Over six albums they have refined this approach, most recently on 'Peregrinus', released for the band's 20th anniversary and recorded with Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios.
The band has played festivals such as Wacken, Graspop, Roskilde Festival and Copenhell and has toured widely across Europe. They have a reputation for energetic, party-spirited live shows.
This Beta show is billed as the last chance of the year to see Svartsot in Copenhagen.
