Nova Love is a funky jazz band, and each New Year's it gives a concert at Charlie Scott's Bar in Copenhagen. The evening begins at 21:00. The band describes it as a way to see the year out with a dose of love, a cold beer, and a clear-out of the last of the Christmas music.
What the evening sounds like
The listed style is funky stuff, played by a lineup of vocals and piano, bass, drums, trumpet, tenor sax and trombone. A brass section and a rhythm section together make for a lively, horn-led night rather than a quiet one.
Why it is a New Year's habit
The band says it started this concert tradition some years ago and has repeated it every year because it has gone well each time. For a visitor, that makes it a dependable way to mark the turn of the year in the city.
