Jazz Concert: The Chris Andersen Quartet ft. Joanna Wojtkiewicz.

Tomorrow concert

The Chris Andersen Quartet joins vocalist Joanna Wojtkiewicz for a jazz evening at Charlie Scott's in Copenhagen. The concert is built around nostalgia, the pleasure of playing together, and a hard-swinging sound that keeps faith with the jazz tradition.

The line-up

  • Joanna Wojtkiewicz, vocals
  • Chris Andersen, drums
  • Andreas Toftemark, saxophone
  • Per Møllehøj, guitar
  • Lasse Mørck, bass

All five are described as highly trained and well-respected musicians from Copenhagen's jazz scene. Chris Andersen has previously performed at Fasching in Stockholm, Nica Jazz Club in Hamburg and Ronnie Scott's in London, and the quartet has played in Germany, the UK, Sweden, Denmark and the Baltic countries.

The evening

This is a concert for listeners who enjoy live jazz in an intimate club setting. The emphasis is on the band's energy and on the pairing of a vocalist with an instrumental group, so the evening suits anyone who wants to hear a classic jazz sound performed with conviction rather than a background set.

The concert takes place at Charlie Scott's, a venue with a live jazz programme. It runs on two dates, 7 November and 26 February, so you can choose whichever suits your travel plans.

Planning your visit

Copenhagen makes an easy base for an evening of music, with the club's location giving you the chance to combine the concert with a wider stay in the city. For ticket information and the latest details on the programme, check the venue's live jazz page at charliescotts.dk.
