Etenesh Wassié: Arada Album Concert.

In 93 days concert

Etenesh Wassié: Arada Album Concert is a live performance by the Ethiopian singer and her quartet at ALICE in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 7 February 2027. It is a concert built around her album Arada (2026), which the quartet presents in full on stage.

The music

The sound draws on ethio-jazz, blended with blues, free jazz and alternative rock, and the set leaves room for improvisation. There are references to Mulatu Astatke, one of the figures most associated with Ethiopian jazz, so listeners who know that tradition will hear it in the mix. Mathieu Sourisseau, a longtime collaborator of Wassié, is also heard during the evening.

About the performer

Wassié first made her name on the cabaret scene of Addis Ababa and has roots in the azmari tradition, a form of sung and spoken performance. That background gives the concert a direct, theatrical energy, even when the arrangements move into more experimental territory.
