An evening of chamber music by Carl Nielsen, presented at the Academy Concert Hall in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, on 23 November 2026. The concert runs from 19:30 to 21:30 and is a good choice for listeners who enjoy Danish music performed in an intimate setting.
The programme
The evening brings together several sides of Nielsen's chamber writing:
- a Wind Quintet
- a String Quintet
- Commotio
- Songs
The performers
The concert features a mix of voice, piano, organ and wind instruments. Asmus Hanke sings, Laurits Dragsted plays piano, Isak Birkemose plays organ, and the RDAM Wind Quintet takes part in the wind music. Because the programme moves between ensemble and solo voices, it gives a varied picture of the composer's work for smaller groups.
Planning your visit
