ACTN3 is an indoor gym in Montreal built around Ninja Warrior and parkour, with flips and acrobatics also on offer. It is a good choice for a visit that calls for something active and a little different from the usual sightseeing. The gym welcomes all levels and ages, from complete beginners to experienced climbers and tumblers.
Two spaces, two kinds of challenge
The venue is split into two rooms. The Espace Performance holds the main equipment: a parkour pit, two large towers, a spring floor, and a two-storey Ninja Warrior course that includes an 18-foot warped wall. The Espace Familial is a gentler course designed for younger children, so families can split up or take turns without anyone feeling out of place.
For those who want to try the course without booking, free practice sessions, called Pratique Libre, run with no time limit. Structured classes are also available in Ninja Warrior, parkour and flip, which suit people who prefer guidance from coaches.
For children and groups
Younger visitors have a dedicated Ti'Ninja area for ages 5 to 7, with games and challenges led by coaches. Children's birthday parties can be held in a private room, which makes the gym a practical option for a celebration. The centre also runs school groups, day camps, adult group events and Ninja Warrior competitions. Weekday daytime is generally reserved for school and private groups, so public visits are best planned for other times.
Planning your visit
ACTN3 is open every day of the week, but it closes on 21 and 22 November for a Ninja Warrior competition. It is located on Rue Dickson, near L'Assomption metro station. For current schedules, class details and booking, check the official website, actn3.ca, or call the gym at (514) 255-8486 before you go.
