L’Éveil, a Chromatic Journey.

11 天后 night lights

L’Éveil, a Chromatic Journey is a night-time light show projected onto the facade of the Fabre Museum in Montpellier, in the Occitania region of southern France. It is a free-standing spectacle to watch from the street, and it turns the museum’s front into a moving canvas.

What you will see

The show invites visitors to step into paintings drawn from video games created in Montpellier. Rather than a conventional screening, the projection brings these images to life across the building, so the familiar architecture becomes part of the scene.

When and where

  • Dates: 12, 13 and 14 November 2026
  • Time: in the evening
  • Venue: the facade of the Fabre Museum, Montpellier

The show is presented as part of the city’s “Cœur de ville en lumières” programme, and the city’s official campaign page holds further details.

The people behind it

The creative direction is by Mahdi Attemane. The original creation, design and production are by Marina Garnier and Quentin Grêlé, and the music and sound design are led by Yann Cléophas. The visuals come from Plug In Digital in partnership with id scènes. The video game studios whose work inspired the paintings are credited among the partners, including Sandfall Interactive, Ubisoft Montpellier, Alt Shift and Plane Toast.

Making the visit

Because the show is a short evening event on three nights, it suits a visitor already in Montpellier in mid-November who wants to see the city after dark. The Fabre Museum sits in the city centre, so the projection can be combined with a walk through the surrounding streets.
