Dance Conference: Building the House Dance Community in Montreal.

Dans 33 jours conference

Dance Conference: Building the House Dance Community in Montreal is a panel discussion held at Ausgang Plaza in Montreal, Canada, on December 4, 2026. It is presented by De La House and CKUT, and it is a conversation rather than a performance: the aim is to trace how house dance took shape in the city.

What the panel covers

The speakers are Nubian Néné, Marvin and Dazl, with Lexis also listed on the programme. Together they look back at the venues that mattered to the scene, the generations of dancers who built it, and the key moments that shaped it. For anyone who knows house dance only from recordings or from the dance floor, it offers a chance to hear the local story told by people who lived it.

Who it suits

  • Dancers and students curious about where Montreal's house scene came from
  • Music and culture fans interested in the people behind the community
  • Visitors who want an evening of talk and reflection rather than a night out

Because it is a panel, the atmosphere is likely to be attentive and conversational. Come with questions if you have them.

The venue and the city

The event takes place at Ausgang Plaza, and Montreal's cultural life gives the evening a wider context. Those staying in the city can make an afternoon or evening of it, comparing the local history discussed on stage with the scene as it stands today. Details of ticketing and the full programme are available on the venue's event page, linked from the listing.
