In 2012, the artists of Collectif Zoukak lost a colleague, Ziad — a committed artist who drowned. This piece rewinds through wars, false hopes, places, tears and laughter. Working with original sound and video design in which water seems to blur reality, the performers weave together intimate and collective memories of Beirut and its vanished neighbourhoods.
Far from sentimentalism, the show is a methodical dissection of a generation's memory — that of the 1970s and 1980s — marked by war and unconditional love for a drifting city. Runtime: 1 hour. Performed in Arabic with French surtitles. Co-presented with Théâtre Jean Vilar.
