The Nutcracker is Les Grands Ballets' beloved holiday production, choreographed by Fernand Nault to Pyotr Tchaikovsky's sumptuous score and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann's story. On Christmas Eve, young Clara receives a nutcracker as a gift, and when the house falls asleep, she is swept away on a magical journey through the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets.
This spectacular production features nearly 165 performers and is accompanied live by the Grands Ballets Orchestra, an ensemble of 55 skilled musicians and soloists that has been central to the company's success for over 30 years.
Over decades, this staging has grown from a ballet into an enduring family holiday tradition, celebrated for its timeless poetry and warmth.
Performances take place at 14:00 and 19:30 from December 5 to 30, 2026, at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, Place des Arts.
