Debre Damo Dining Orchestra opens Vinterjazz 2027 with an evening of Ethio-jazz at Spillestedet Stengade in Copenhagen, on 29 January 2027. The concert takes place on the venue's 18 Stengade stage, and the band is returning to the venue, so it is a good chance to hear them in a room they already know.
What to expect
The evening is a live concert, and the sound is the draw. Ethio-jazz blends the rhythms and melodic modes of Ethiopian music with the improvisation and horn-led arrangements of jazz. Because the concert opens the Vinterjazz festival, it sets the tone for the series of jazz nights that follow in the winter season.
