The band helped lay the foundations of grindcore with their 1987 debut Scum and have maintained an unrelenting drive for brutality and musical extremity for over 40 years. Despite numerous lineup changes — no original members remain — the band's musical integrity and ethos have been passed down through successive generations of members.
Napalm Death continue to build an impressive discography with the same energy as ever, now totalling 17 studio albums. Recent highlights include the collaborative record Savage Imperial Death March with the Melvins and the critically noted Resentment is Always Seismic from 2022.
