Out of Line is an exhibition by Danish designer, woodworker and visual artist Signe Lemche, on display at Halle Tropisme in Montpellier from 15 to 20 September 2026. The works explore the relationship between hand, eye and material — where a body can become a line, a line a movement, and a movement a form that no longer needs to represent anything specific.
Rather than treating the sketch as a preliminary step toward a finished piece, Lemche elevates it as a space where possibilities remain open and the unexpected can emerge. The exhibition invites visitors to look, feel and experiment without knowing the outcome in advance.
Signe Lemche holds a degree in industrial design from Designskolen Kolding in Denmark. Her practice sits at the intersection of drawing, craft, design and material experimentation, with hand work as a constant foundation across all her activities.
